Weekly Update 4/7

Happy, happy Friday!! 

Science:  During science this week we reviewed some topics from previous years and from earlier this year in preparation for the MAP test in a couple of weeks.  We did some fun activities, including the kiddos' favorite QUIZLET!


Math:   We finished up our geometry chapter and took our chapter 12 test today!  We focused on finding volume of prisms and composite figures this week! I will hand the tests back on Monday.


Writing: We finished up are DARE essays.  The kids worked really hard on them and seemed to enjoy the process!  It was fun to get to use all of the knowledge they learned from DARE this year.



Reading: We continued reviewing some test taking strategies and enjoyed spending time independently reading.  We tried out a new online reading program, MyOn.  It is a website that can be accessed both at school and home.  It is similar to ALEKS by having the kids take a "quiz" every so often in order to help them choose books that are appropriate for them.

It was a fun-filled week!

4/14: NO School 


Please don't forget to send in a letter for you child for MAP testing!  They would love to read some encouraging words from you!  Please send those in by Thursday (4/13)
